Located in East Springville near Hobble Creek Canyon the new 152,500-square foot Springville Jr. High School was constructed. Its location was prime for many reasons; primarily the cost of the property was affordable and the location was in the “backyard” for the vast majority of the students. This new educational facility sits on 28.72 acres replacing the old Springville Jr. High, original dedicated in 1957, now to be used for Nebo School District classes and offices. The new school will house the existing students with plenty of room to grow, allowing for a 22% increase. This modern school was well designed and features many of the needed technological advancements to serve the students in the 21st century. There were many cost savings associated with this structure as the design was parallel to the recently constructed Mapleton Jr. High School and the Salem Jr. High School, each within the Nebo School District. Not only were funds a factor, but there was also a considerable time saved from early implementation to completion. Wilkinson Electric’s involvement on this new community asset is something that we can all be proud of.
