Wilkinson Electric was excited for the challenge of working in an existing hospital for the remodel work on the 4th and 5th floors at the Dixie Regional Medical Center. We understood that as a construction team, and while working for Intermountain Healthcare that the priority of both parties is to be sensitive to the experience of the patient. Working in an existing facility such as this brings a new set of challenges that Wilkinson Electric was ready and excited to embrace.

The 4th floor tenant improvement consisted of a 23,000-square foot build out. The improvements involved several patient care rooms, as well as several nursing stations. This project was classified as a fast track project, in an effort to complete this project and get the hospital back up and running to full capacity quickly. Wilkinson Electric was able to accommodate, and completed this project within the time frame requested.

The 5th floor portion of this facility was the Acute Rehab Remodel. This work first consisted of a complete demolition to the existing hospital area of approximately 10,000 sq. ft. With only a 3-month time table, after the demolition Wilkinson Electric immediately mobilized and began the build out of the New Acute Rehab Patient Care Room Facility. While working in the existing hospital Wilkinson Electric was able to join with the construction team to help complete this project, and has continued to enjoy a working relationship with Intermountain Healthcare as they expand additional facilities.
