Currently, Utah State’s second-largest courthouse with room on site to grow, this three-story, 123,000-square foot facility has four 3rd district courtrooms, a courtroom for the district court commissioner and five juvenile courtrooms. It also houses office space for support staff, juvenile probation, the offices of Guardian ad Litem and the district attorney’s office.

The design was constructed of exterior brick and stone along with a copper roof. The interior of the courtrooms feature cherry wood with stainless steel accents. A hint of “green” features included the use of geothermal heating to maximize the energy efficiency of the structure. All courtrooms are equipped with digital audio recording devices for record-keeping, and the juvenile courtrooms are wired to provide video conferencing with the Salt Lake County Juvenile Detention Center.
