Tool Policy

Employees are required to purchase their own hand tools. If you need to get a tool at a supply house for your own use on the job, you may charge it to the company if it is less than $100. Anything more than that amount needs to be cleared by management before purchase. Payments will be withheld from your pay check until the balance is paid. If you owe less than $100 we will withhold $25 per check, on amounts over $100 we will withhold $50 per check until the balance falls below $100. Purchases charged over $100 without permission will have the entire balance withheld from their pay. Charges are limited to purchases of tools for use on the job. You may not charge items for personal use such as lumber, auto parts or other materials. When you do charge from a supplier, please make sure they write it up on a specific tools purchase order.

Each electrician, plumber, or sheet metal worker working for the firm will own and have available at work, at least the type and number of tools listed on the following company tool lists. If a power tool (i.e. hole hawg, skill saw, sawzall) breaks or becomes in need of repair while being used on company jobs and the repair is not a result of misuse or abuse the company will pay for the cost of the repair. This tool repair policy becomes effective after one year of employment

Wilkinson/Ace provides large power tools and equipment necessary for your work. The company will repair and replace tools needing service due to normal wear. The crew will be responsible for breakage or loss due to neglect or carelessness. Periodic random checks of equipment will be made. Use all tools with care and only for their intended use. Tools taken to a job from the shop are to be returned ready for use by the next person.

If there is a repair needed, please report it at once. Tools are not to be left in the back of the truck. They should be locked in the tool bins or locked in the warehouse/conex box
